5-star boutique hotel in Glasgow's West End with a 3 Rosette restaurant and 300 whiskies

Dining & Drinking

The oak-panelled bistro has earned 3 Rosettes for culinary excellence and serves fresh Scottish cuisine with ingredients like meat from the Queen's own supplier. The bar and whisky snug area stocks over 300 whiskies and 600 wine bins, with an in-house wine expert and bar manager to guide selections. Guests can also book the cigar shack for curated experiences.

Rooms & Suites

The hotel offers 49 individually designed luxury bedrooms and suites across five interlinked Victorian townhouses. Each room has a luxurious bed and a modern bathroom with a deep bath and a large monsoon shower. The Vettriano Suite features a bath in the bedroom bay window and a TV in the bathroom.

Location & Grounds

One Devonshire Gardens sits on a tree-lined Victorian terrace in Glasgow's fashionable West End, a 10-minute walk from the Botanic Gardens and Hyndland Rail Station. The University of Glasgow and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum are within a 20-minute walk. Loch Lomond is a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

Business & Events

The hotel has spacious meeting and event spaces that retain original Victorian features, such as stained glass windows and wood panelling. The team offers personalised service and bespoke event planning for weddings, private events, and business meetings. The entire Townhouse 5 can be booked for private celebrations including wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Pet-Friendly Amenities

The hotel provides pet bowls, pet baskets, and pet treats for dogs staying in the rooms. Dogs are welcome in the bar area for dining and drinks. Breakfast can be taken in the bar with a dog, offering a quieter experience than the main dining room.

“In Glasgow's West End, this spot impresses with its Victorian grace and whisky offerings, earning culinary accolades. The architecture evokes a sophisticated ambiance, and personalized service seems a hallmark. However, some experiences suggest occasional inconsistencies in housekeeping and attentiveness, aspects that, if addressed, would elevate the experience.”

mixed experience

disinterested staff difficult access
the garden patio offered a comfortable space for playing cards.
The staff seemed disinterested during my entire stay. i had to carry my own heavy bags up the stairs, access was difficult in the old building. there was no offer of refreshment after my late arrival due to flight delays. This felt unusual for the price.
